Rev Ken Hunter, 20/7/1946 – 6/7/2026
It is with sadness that the Free Church learned of the passing of Rev Ken Hunter on Monday 6th July at the age of 79.
Ken was minister at Brora Free Church from 1998 for around a decade. He was also hospital Chaplain at Golspie and Migdale hospitals. He retired several years ago. For the past thirteen years his wife, Marjorie and Ken have lived in Edwinstowe in Nottingham.
He was a much-loved husband, grandad, great grandad, brother, uncle, great uncle and dad.
His daughter Debbie Duncan said: “Dad has been so resilient – battling early onset Alzheimer’s. He told me in the early days of his illness that God would look after him and He did.
“Dad passed into heaven listening to Psalm 121 surrounded by family.”

Ken’s funeral will take place at 11am on Thursday 30th July at Sherwood Forest Crematorium, Newark Road, New Ollerton, Nottinghamshire, NG22 0DY. The service will also be livestreamed. If you would like to attend either in person or online, contact the family so they are aware: [email protected]
