Free Church Moderator, Rev Calum Iain Macleod and his wife Dina attended the official opening of the Logos Hope ship in Edinburgh on Friday.
As the world’s largest floating book fair, Logos Hope offers educational resources for all ages, hosts public events and encourages cultural exchange. Crewed by more than 300 volunteers from over 65 nations, the ship carries more than 5,000 book titles and serves as a platform for sharing knowledge, help and hope with communities around the world.
Calum Iain said: “It was a privilege for Dina and I to be at the official opening ceremony of Logos Hope’s visit to Edinburgh. Meeting Captain Matt Stephens and chatting to some of the 300 international volunteers serving on board was a great honour and hugely uplifting. Everyone is encouraged to visit Logos Hope at Leith (10th – 19th July) and Aberdeen (from 27th July) and experience the Waves of Hope tour.”
During the ship’s visit to Edinburgh, some members of the Free Church are volunteering on board, including Sarah Robinson, Free Church Communications Manager, who is serving as a port helper in the bookfair department.
