Hello from everyone on the Youth Conference committee. This year’s conference brought together over 170 young people from across Scotland for a weekend of teaching, fellowship, and time set apart under God’s Word.
We were very thankful to have Rev Cory Brock, of St Columba’s Free Church, with us as our main speaker. Over four sessions, he led us through teaching on the Holy Spirit, helping us to better understand who the Spirit is and His work in the life of the believer. The talks were clear, challenging, and encouraging, and deepened many attendees understanding of the Holy Spirit.
Jim and Kirsty Boyd were our house parents for the weekend. They were absolutely fantastic; warm, welcoming, and always willing to take time to speak with and support attendees. Their presence was a real encouragement throughout the conference.
It was great to have representatives from UFM and WFM with us on Saturday, who shared about the work they are involved in and the opportunities for mission both at home and overseas. We were also very grateful to Emma Mackenzie and her incredible team of cooks, who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to deliver delicious food all weekend.
Saturday’s seminars covered a wide range of topics, including Predestination, The Law, Muslim Outreach, Glorifying God, Jesus: a Rock in an uncertain world, and Prayer. In the seminar on prayer, we also heard about the Free Church initiative Engage 2026, and were challenged to be praying regularly for ten non-believers in our lives.
The Psalms and Testimonies evening was once again a highlight. We were privileged to hear from Jim and Kirsty Boyd, as well as Luke Davidson. It was encouraging to hear how the Lord has been at work in their lives, reminding us of His grace and faithfulness in different circumstances.
On Sunday morning, we were led by Rev Andrew Macleod in a session focused on building one another up, which was both practical and encouraging as we thought about how to support one another in the Christian life.
We are very thankful to the Lord for His kindness to us over the weekend. There was a real sense of unity and encouragement, and we are grateful to all who supported the conference. We give thanks to God for His provision in every aspect of the weekend.
