As the Scottish Parliament prepares to hold the Stage 3 vote on the Assisted Dying for Terminally Ill Adults (Scotland) Bill next week, the Free Church Moderator, Rev Alasdair Macleod, and Public Engagement Co-ordinator, Rev Stephen Allison, are encouraging people to pray.
This proposed legislation represents a significant moral and legal change, and many are concerned about the impact it could have on the protection of vulnerable people and the culture of care in our society.
Scripture calls us to pray for those in authority and to seek the welfare of our nation, and this is an important moment to do so. Prayer points are available for people ahead of the final vote on Tuesday (17th March).

In addition to praying locally, you are warmly invited to join an online prayer meeting on the day of the vote (Tuesday 17th March), from 12:30–1:00pm, hosted by Rev Alasdair Macleod and Stephen Allison. This will be an opportunity for us to unite in prayer as the vote takes place in the Scottish Parliament. All are very welcome to join.
