Former Free Church missionary Dr Helen Ramsay has passed away peacefully in Sydney, Australia on 12th October 2021 at the age of 93 after a long illness.
Helen served in India as a medical missionary of the Free Church of Scotland and had the active support of the Presbyterian Church of Eastern Australia. Her service in Lakhnadon and Chhapara covered 30 years, from 1955-1985, except for 1970-76 when she returned to Australia to look after her aged parents in Taree and worked as a GP.
Helen initiated improvements in both Lakhnadon and Chhapara and ran an excellent pioneering Community Health project in Chhapara.
Her mother was originally from Cawdor and she visited Scotland several times. She was greatly respected and loved by her many patients, by the Christian community in Chhapara and by her missionary colleagues. To her surviving relatives we extend our sincere condolences.
And I heard a voice from heaven saying, “Write this: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.” “Blessed indeed,” says the Spirit, “that they may rest from their labors, for their deeds follow them!”Revelation 14:13
