Today the Free Church of Scotland is launching Engage 2026 — a national prayer initiative calling every believer to commit to praying for those who do not yet know Jesus as their Lord and Saviour.
We are asked to identify ten people in our lives who need to hear the good news of Jesus; they may be family, friends, colleagues, neighbours, even people we struggle with.
If 10,000 Christians across our congregations each commit to praying regularly for ten individuals, then 100,000 people would be brought before God in prayer.
We can challenge ourselves to pray urgently, faithfully, and persistently. This is an invitation to sustained intercession, trusting in God’s power and perfect timing to bring gospel change in many lives. As we pray, we do so with confidence that He hears us — and we watch expectantly for opportunities to share about Jesus.
Engage 2026 seeks to support the development of a long-term culture of mission, grounded in prayer. As a denomination, our vision is to see “A Healthy Gospel Church for Every Community in Scotland.” That vision can only be realised as we depend fully on the Lord in prayer, acknowledging that true growth and transformation come from Him. Through this initiative, we aim to form habits of prayer and expectation that will sustain faithful gospel witness for years to come.

The answer to prayer is opportunity and we want to help you prepare for that. Keep an eye on the Free Church website as we share ideas and resources to inspire and equip you.
So, be bold. Join us in 2026 as we pray fervently for those around us; that God will be at work in their hearts and lives and He would draw many to Himself.
