Free Church Moderator Rev Calum Iain and his wife Dina Macleod have had a packed weekend in Edinburgh.
Saturday 8th August
Calum said: “Dina and I were pleased to accept an invitation from the Rt Rev Gordon Kennedy, Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland, to attend the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, followed by a formal event Edinburgh Castle. It was a privilege to be guests of Major General Robert Bruce, Governor of Edinburgh Castle, enjoy table fellowship, engage with Army chaplains and meet with Military Tattoo personnel.
“Earlier in the day I had the opportunity to spend time behind the scenes with ASR David Jamieson (Scripture Reader at Kinloss and Fort George) representing SASRA, actively serving and reaching out to all within the Tattoo community with the good news of the Gospel. Please pray for the SASRA team working tirelessly at the Tattoo.”
Sunday 9th August
“On Sunday morning we attended Hope Church in Leith. It is a great encouragement to see Hope Church grow and cultivate its vision of sharing Christ, in Leith and for Leith. As a Training Church, this newly developed congregation, under the ministry of Rev Derek Lamont, is already making a significant contribution to the wider ministry of the Free Church of Scotland.”

“On Sunday afternoon – we visited Caleb Macleod at the Royal Hospital for Children and Young People, Edinburgh. We were given the opportunity to visit Caleb and to spend time with Andrew, Eilidh and Isla. They expressed their deep appreciation for all who are praying for Caleb and for them as a family at this anxious time.”
- The Moderator is appointed for a one-year term and in that time attends numerous events and meetings on behalf of the Free Church of Scotland.
