THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
FREE CHURCH OF SCOTLAND
The Board of Trustees looks after the organisation as a whole, supporting the work of the other boards, presbyteries and congregations.
The Board of Trustees has responsibility for:
- Governance and strategy
- Property
- Finance
- Legal and compliance
- Risk management
- Communications
The Board of Trustees is comprised of 12 Board members. The Chief Executive Officer and two Board advisers join the Board members for the nine or so meetings held each year.
As well as having a vice-chair, the Board has appointed four trustees, each of whom has oversight for one of the following areas: finance, treasury, property and compliance. In addition, the Board has several sub-committees, again with responsibility for specific areas.
The focus of the Board’s current work is developing a strategy to deliver the vision statement: “A healthy gospel church for every community in Scotland”.
Although it is often challenging combining a role on the Board with working and other commitments, it is also an immense privilege.
This is an exciting time to be involved in the Free Church of Scotland.
