The General Assembly note the importance of ensuring that candidates for ministry are as well acquainted as possible with the different opportunities, needs and challenges for congregations across every community in Scotland. In order to facilitate this, the General Assembly instruct that all candidates for ministry are required to preach at least once in each Presbytery (with the exception of the Presbytery of North America/Prince Edward Island) prior to the completion of their training programme.
