An Edinburgh based charity that aims to enhance the lives of vulnerable women who may have experienced abuse, homelessness or trauma is hosting a virtual walk fundraiser this August to support the development of its work.
Using the World Walking app the organisers are asking participants to join together with a group of 4 to 6 friends and walk the equivalent of London to Edinburgh, 377.1 miles, over 31 days.
Sparkle Sisters was launched back in 2019 and is a ministry of St Columba’s Free Church of Scotland.
Charity founder Catriona Lamont said, “We desire to bring the love of Christ and ultimately healing to many visible and invisible women in our local community whose lives have been adversely affected by trauma.”
“Our mission is to provide a safe space in Edinburgh, where women affected in any way by homelessness or adverse social circumstances will experience joy and feel valued.”
