As we approach the time for Women for Mission to hold its Annual Meeting we do so with much thanksgiving that this year we are able to meet in person, not having done so since May 2019.
This year’s meeting will be held in Knox Free Church, Perth on Saturday, 21 May 2022 starting at 2.00 pm.
A warm welcome is extended to all women throughout the denomination to join us on this occasion. It would be a real encouragement to have a good attendance but for those who are unable to do so, this meeting will also be livestreamed. For further details please visit Women for Mission’s YouTube channel or the website.
The Annual Meeting is primarily a business meeting reviewing the activities of the past year. Whilst we have all experienced the challenges of the pandemic, WfM is very conscious of how God continued to bless us and not least through the amazing fundraising efforts for our Projects by our supporters. A financial report will be given which will also include the total raised to date for the 2021/22 Project Hope for the Hurting. (Please note that there is still an opportunity to donate to this Project as the closing date will be extended to 30 June 2022).
As that Project comes to a close the details of Project 2022/23 will be announced and we look forward to sharing further details about those Christian organisations we will be partnering with to help equip and encourage them, both prayerfully and financially, as they seek to share the love and compassion of Christ, whether that be at home or overseas.
We are delighted that we will also have the opportunity to hear from some of those who have been supported by WfM in recent years either through the Support a Volunteer fund or one of the Projects. This year’s speakers include Kathleen MacSween (Sparkle Sisters), Maria Cockburn (World on Our Doorstep – Govanhill) and Abby Morrison who volunteered in Tanzania.
One important aspect of our meeting this year that has not been possible with our online events is the opportunity to sing together. This has highlighted how much blessing comes from being together to worship God and not least in our singing. As we gather this year may we do so with renewed thankfulness for God’s faithfulness to us, his constant love and the rich blessings that arise from our being united in the name of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
