The Big Sing, an afternoon of sung worship to reflect on God’s faithfulness, was held in Edinburgh at the beginning of June organised by the Free Church Psalmody & Praise Committee.
Members from a number of churches attended the afternoon at Grace Church Leith. It was an encouraging time as men and women gathered to sing together. Songs were sung in groups of three – a Psalm, a hymn and a modern song- which reflected on God’s character, his power and his faithfulness.
Rev. David Court, of Christ Church Edinburgh, gave a short reflection on Psalm 126. He spoke about looking back to see what God has done for us, looking upward to God in our situations and looking forward to what God has in store for us.
A harmony workshop was also held to give attendees the opportunity to learn four-part harmonies of a Psalm.
Charles Douglas, Psalmody and Praise Committee clerk, said: “It was so encouraging and uplifting to meet together with fellow believers to sing about God’s love and his faithfulness in all circumstances.”
Special thanks go to Cailean Morrison and Fergus Munro but also to all who helped to make the afternoon possible.
