Summer is here, which can only mean one thing, Free Church Youth Camps! Now well underway, young people from around the country are taking part in a variety of activities, games and sports as well as taking time out to discuss faith and the big issues of life.
This weekend several groups hit the road for a week of fun and adventure: Oswestry Juniors 2 and Seniors, Renfrew Kids, Dunbar Junior Football and Kincraig Girls.
The camps run from the first week of July until the start of August. There are 11 camps this year which will take place in Dunbar, Kincraig, Oswestry and Renfrew, with over 300 young people attending, and over 130 volunteer leaders and cooks.
Camps Administrator Kirsten MacDonald said: “All the months of preparation by everyone connected with camps - more people than you might think - along with a LOT of prayer support, have led to a successful start to our Youth Camps programme. It's always great to hear about the anticipation and excitement of our young people heading to Camp."
“Please keep praying for the Camps - pray for safety in transport, and that all the arrangements will work well. Pray for the Leaders and Campers throughout the week - that everyone will be kept safe, will have a great time, and will come closer to Jesus. Pray for the Cooks as they cater for everyone, and for the Drivers and for safety in travel during the week at Camp. Please also pray for those who wanted to go to Camp but didn't get a place. We depend on God for every part of the Camps Programme.
“It's a huge privilege that we have as a denomination to serve God through the ministry of Youth Camps, and we pray that He will be glorified through this work.”
