Skye & Wester Ross

Youth and Schools Worker Vacancy

March 6, 2018

An opportunity has arisen in South Skye and South West Ross for a full-time Youth and Schools worker.  The role, which builds on 16 years of work done by the previous worker, presents an exciting opportunity to be involved in the lives of children and young people right through their years at school.  It is also a role which has proved to be of great importance for the Free Church congregations in the area it serves.  Several trustees of the Trust which employs the worker, and many of those who volunteer their services in its work, attend the local Free Churches.

Details of the post can be seen below. Rev. Roddie Rankin of Plockton and Kyle Free Church, who has served as a trustee since the Trust's beginning, is also happy to be contacted by anyone interested in applying.

YOUTH AND SCHOOLS WORKER

Salary:  £21, 000 to £25, 000

Christian Outlook on Lochalsh (COOL) is a Scottish charity focusing on the young people resident in the Lochalsh, South Skye, Lochcarron, Applecross and Glenelg areas of North West Scotland. Our work is among young people in schools, holiday events, residential events and churches.

The Trust is seeking to appoint someone, ideally with schools ministry experience, to this established work. The position will be one of working to develop and deliver an effective Christian ministry in the catchment area of Plockton High School and its associated primaries.

It is important that you are committed to COOL’s ethos working principles and vision and would demonstrate this through your commitment and motivation. It is also an Occupational Requirement that the post-holder demonstrates a personal faith in Jesus Christ.
