A two-day focus of prayer and fundraising will take place this weekend in support of Free Church Youth Camps (FCYC). The Camps Fundraising Day will take place on Saturday, followed by the Camps Prayer Day on Sunday.
Whilst some congregations and Camp Leadership Teams have already raised funds, and others are planning future fundraising activities, this weekend provides an opportunity for the whole church to come together to raise awareness of, and pray for, this work.
Each year FCYC runs week-long residential camps during the summer for over 300 young people. As well as taking part in various activities and games, these young people are given the opportunity to spend time learning about the Bible and discussing its relevance to their lives.
Camps Administrator Kirsten Macdonald said, "FCYC is a valuable work that the whole church can take part in, whether it's attending as a Camper, volunteering to be a Leader or Cook, chaperoning or driving young people to Camp, helping to raise money for the work, or praying."
"During this week, on our Facebook page, we'll be posting some information and prayer points on two Camps each day so that people can learn a bit more about each of them and about what we'd value prayer for."
"If you're going to be doing any fundraising on Saturday, we look forward to hearing how it goes! On Sunday, we hope that each congregation will join with us in praying for the work as a whole as we depend on God and ask that He would use FCYC for His glory, to bring young souls to Christ."
