The 2018 MacMillan Lecture in Evangelism will be held on Tuesday, January 30th, at 2.00 pm in the Chalmers Hall, Edinburgh.
The lecture series was first introduced in 1994 and was established in honour of Rev. Professor Douglas Macmillan, a former lecturer at Edinburgh Theological Seminary (then the Free Church College), and a passionate evangelist himself.
Each year a guest lecturer is invited to take part in the series. This year's guest lecturer will be Rev. Iain MacAskill of Stirling Free Church.
Iain was born in North Uist and his wife Ann comes from South Uist. After they were both converted through the same sermon on Zacchaeus, Iain and Ann felt a burden to plant a new church in the Uists. For 12 years they ministered in South Uist and Benbecula.
God then called them along with their daughter Kathryn to serve in Rosskeen Free Church and a new church was soon planted in Alness: the Capstone Centre. The MacAskills served for 6 and a half years in Rosskeen where Iain also was chaplain to Ross County Football Club.
In 2016, Iain was called to be the first minister of the newly planted church in Stirling. He has travelled to Moldova, Peru and India.
Iain has a passion for the gospel and God has blessed his ministry with the conversion of many to Christ
All are welcome to attend.
