Summer youth camps places being allocated on Monday!

January 9, 2015

Places for the summer Free Church Youth Camps (FCYC) programme will start being allocated on Monday (12 January).

Parents are strongly advised to book as soon as possible because a number of the camps are expected to be oversubscribed – last year six camps were full within three days.

Confirmation of places may take up to two weeks, but will be processed as quickly as possible. If your preferred camp is full then your name will go on the waiting list, and someone from FCYC will contact you to discuss options.

All of the details are on the Free Church Youth Camps website: http://www.freechurchyouthcamps.org/

Last year more than 300 youngsters attended different camps across the UK in July and August.

FCYC supervisor Clive Bailey said: “The start of a new year is the time to book that place at camp this coming summer.

“Bookings will open next Monday, 12th January, and already we have received lots of applications. Be sure to get yours in to secure a place!”

“Free Church Youth Camps are a wonderful way for our young people to have an enjoyable holiday, to spend time with other young people from other churches, and most importantly, to learn more about the Lord Jesus Christ through Bible talks, dorm discussions and informal chats.”

Clive revealed details of a new camp in the UK’s capital city, adding: “This year there are planned twelve camps, in Comrie, Kincraig, Pitlochry, Oswestry, Dunbar, North Uist, and new this year, London.

“The new London camp is for young people aged 17-21 years, and is to be based in Chingford, less than half an hour from the buzzing centre of the capital.

“The leaders, Roddy and Fiona Mackay, have spaces for just 36 young people in what promises to be a very different camp.”

The FCYC team would also be delighted to hear from anyone able to assist with the smooth running of the camps in different ways over the summer.

Clive continued: “Could you help as a leader or cook at a camp this summer? We need lots of help!

“This will not be a holiday for you, but will be a wonderful way of serving the Lord through this ministry to young people.

“You can see details of how to volunteer to serve on this short-term mission by visiting the website."

The camps programme begins on 4 July, and further updates are expected over the coming weeks.
