Each summer Free Church congregations around the country organise holiday clubs for children within their local community. Hope Church Coatbridge is one such church.
This summer Hope Church has invited a team from Independent Presbyterian Church Memphis, Tennessee to run a holiday club in Airdrie, where they aim to plant a church in the future.
Minister Rev. Ivor MacDonald said, "We are excited about working with our brothers and sisters from across the pond and pray that this will be a memorable time for the community in Airdrie, as well as our own church family."
The “Most Wanted” Western-themed holiday club will take place in the local school from 30th July to 3rd August from 11am-1pm. Hope Church Coatbridge will then run with this theme for a second week in Coatbridge from the 6th- 10th August 10:30-12:30.
Mr MacDonald also explained why the holiday clubs are a priority for the congregation, "We continue to organise our Holiday Club because each day the Gospel is preached, and we have around 40 children who come and it provides a fantastic opportunity to get to know some parents and grandparents too."
"The Holiday Club is a wonderful way to see our church community in action too, where each part of the family can contribute by using their gifts. God is richly blessing our children’s work and we feel that the Holiday Club is a valuable time to develop relationships further by having meaningful question and answer sessions with children, which helps us find out more about their individual questions about God and it is our privilege to point them to Jesus Christ."
Please pray for all the holiday clubs taking place around the country over the summer.
