Rev. Andy Pearson is set to become the new minister of St Peter's Free Church, Dundee.
Originally from Inverness, Andy completed a degree in Religious Studies & Scottish History at Edinburgh University before being employed by Kirkcaldy Free Church as a Community Worker. It was during this period in Fife that he felt called to the ministry.
After his time at Edinburgh Theological Seminary, Andy served as Senior Pastor of London City Presbyterian Church for over eight years.
Andy said, “Although it is with a heavy heart that I leave a much-loved congregation in London I am excited for this new chapter of ministry. I covet the prayers of the wider church as I join the congregation of St Peter’s in bringing the Good News of Jesus to the city of Dundee.”
During the vacancy period, Mission Director Rev. David Meredith served as the congregation's Interim Moderator, he said, "I am delighted that Andy Pearson has accepted the call to be the new minister."
"Not only is it a church with an illustrious past, the city of Dundee presents opportunities for a great future."
"Our gain is London City Presbyterian's loss but our trust is in the ultimate pastor."
"We pray for Andy, Catherine, Colin, Ellie-Rose and Juliette as they prepare to move to the City of Discovery."
Commenting on the new appointment St Peter's elder Stephen Allan said, "We are delighted that Andy Pearson has accepted the call to come to St.Peter’s as our Minister."
"We are excited about the next chapter in the life of the church here in Dundee and look forward to how God will shape, strengthen and grow His people under Andy’s ministry."
"We are also conscious of the congregation he leaves behind in London and we'll be praying for them as they now enter a time of vacancy."
Andy is married to Catherine and they have three children - Colin (11), Ellie-Rose (9), and Juliette (7).
