We are delighted to welcome Cat Mahato as the new Free Church Youth Camps administrator.
Cat has been working closely with Laura MacAulay over the past few weeks, who has gone on maternity leave.
Rev Alasdair Macleod, who chairs the Home Missions Youth Committee, said: “We are delighted to welcome Cat to the camps team.
“It is such an encouragement to see those who were campers in their younger days taking an active role in the camps programme as adults – and it doesn’t get more active than the camps administrator role!
“We wish her every blessing in her role and commend her to the prayers of the wider church.”
Cat grew up in the Ayr Free Church congregation, and has worked in various outdoor centres as an instructor, and also studied Youth and Community Work with Applied Theology at the International Christian College in Glasgow.
She has been heavily involved with the Breathe Project for young people at Aberfeldy Parish Church in Perthshire for the past five years.
Breathe helped young people from 8-25 with behavioural difficulties and addiction issues.
Cat is married to Paul, who works for the YMCA in Perth as a youth worker.
Cat can be contacted at the usual camps email [email protected]
We pray that she will settle into her new role, please also remember Laura and the MacAulay family as they await the arrival of their second baby.
