Free Church Moderator Designate, Rev. Derek Lamont, addressed the Scottish Parliament yesterday during its ‘Time for Reflection’. This is a brief slot where external speakers from religious and other belief groups have the opportunity to share a message with assembled politicians.
Rev. Derek Lamont said, "It's a real honour to be asked to address the Scottish Parliament."
"Being able to share a Christian message with the leaders of the country is an enormous privilege and I hope they will be able to reflect on it."
In his speech he tackled the subject of loneliness whilst outlining why the church was best placed to support those in every part of society who may experience its effects.
