Rev. Donald G. MacDonald was surprised with a presentation to mark his 25 years in Free Church ministry.
Family and friends from Portree and Bracadale Free Church and farther afield gathered to give thanks for 25 years of faithful service to God and to the communities to which Mr MacDonald has been called. Taken totally by surprise, Mr MacDonald responded to gifts received by himself and his wife Debbie with typical humility and grace. As always, he reminded the assembled company of God's mercy and love, seeking to give all praise and honour to the Lord.
Mr MacDonald, affectionately known as Donnie G, was inducted to the parish of Ferintosh and Resolis on the Black Isle on the 2nd October 1992, thus beginning his service as a parish minister dedicated to the teaching and preaching of the Gospel. A gifted preacher, Mr MacDonald excels in his pastoral role to individuals, families and organisations.
In November 2003, he accepted a call to his native isle and became minister of Portree Free Church. Under his stewardship, Portree Free Church has flourished and has recently amalgamated with Bracadale Free Church. Portree and Bracadale Free Church are now looking forward to the prospect of a new building in Shepherd's Way providing a base for worship and service to the community.
