Following a ten-month refurbishment project and an investment of well over a million pounds, Bon Accord Free Church have successfully returned to their church building.
Rev. David MacPherson said, "We are delighted to be back in our building on Rosemount Viaduct in the centre of Aberdeen. I guess I might be a little biased but all those involved have excelled themselves and the end result is quite stunning!"
The new facilities are already proving to be very suitable. The church was able to accommodate a recent marriage celebration of a young couple in the congregation and was able to cater for two hundred people for a sit-down meal following the ceremony.
"We are so thankful to our own folk and other friends of the congregation who have given so generously to make this possible. We had anticipated the need to borrow heavily but this has not proved necessary. Thank God!" said Rev. MacPherson.
There will be a Thanksgiving Service on Saturday 26th of August at 7 pm. Among other guests, the congregation is looking forward to having Rev. Derek Lamont, who worshipped in the congregation as a student back in the 1980s, address the congregation in his capacity as Moderator.
All friends of the congregation are welcome to attend this service. Please pray for Bon Accord Free Church that they might use their newly refurbished premises for the worship of God, the upbuilding of his people, and the sharing of the good news with others.
