The Big Free Rally meets this coming Saturday (01st October) in Smithton Church, Inverness.
The Rally is always a highlight in the calendar for young people and youth workers across Scotland, and with this year being the 20th anniversary, it’s set to be extra special!
Although it is often seen as an opportunity for campers and leaders of the Free Church Youth Camps programme to get together for a reunion post camp, it is open to all young people from P5 age up to attend, whether they’ve been to camp or not.
Edinburgh Theological Seminary student Andrew Robertson will be the main speaker this year, and along with worship, games, the big free quiz and lots of surprises through the day it should be a day full of fun, friendship and fellowship for all.
“It’s a great event,” said Laura MacAulay, Free Church Camps Administrator. “As one of the biggest gatherings in the Free Church calendar the young people really look forward to it. After the teaching and spiritual feeding they received at camp, this day helps them to persevere and know that they have the continued support of their friends and leaders. We really do value the prayers of the church for the young people and for this event and may God continue to bless it and the faith of these young people for the next twenty years and beyond.”
It’s also hoped that those attending the rally will have opportunity to get the first look at the 2017 programme of Free Church Youth Camps.
Registration for the Rally begins at 10.30 in Smithton Church, and runs through until 3.30pm. It is a non ticketed event, and any young people not yet booked in can pay on the day. Remember to bring a packed lunch!
