The 2017 camps programme officially gets underway this week, as brochures make their way to young people, leaders and churches across Scotland.
This year there will be 13 camps to choose from, offering a Christian activity holiday to those aged between 10 and 21.
Free Church Youth Camps (FCYC) administrator Laura MacAulay said: "In 2016 all the camps were full and everyone had a great time and wanted more! So, in 2017, with almost 400 camp places available at 13 camps - three of which are brand new - we're excited to see what the Lord has in store. My note to parents would be to register quickly in preparation for bookings opening on Monday, 9th January at 1pm."
Free Church Camps first took place in 1960, and have continued each year since, offering a holiday for young people in a Christian environment. In addition to a range of activities at each camp, there is also a programme of Christian teaching, worship and prayer each day.
“We teach about the importance of following Jesus Christ at each camp,” said Laura, “and Christian leaders will welcome participants questions during ‘dorm discussions’.”
This year the programme runs from 6th July to 12th August, and during that time camps will be taking place throughout Scotland, and at the Quinta Centre in North West Wales, which will celebrate a 21yr relationship with FCYC this year.
Although brochures are now available, and you can register online via the Free Church Camps website, camp spaces won’t be allocated until booking officially opens on 9th January at 1pm, ensuring that everybody has a great opportunity to get booked in to their choice of camp.
FCYC brochures will be sent to all those who participated in the 2016 Camps programme, but you can also pick up a copy from your local Free Church, or via the Free Church Offices by e-mailing [email protected]
