7:30 PM Monday 6th September 2021 – St Columba’s Free Church, Edinburgh
Everyone is warmly invited to attend the Edinburgh Theological Seminary’s (ETS) Opening Service on Monday 6th September which will formally mark the beginning of the Academic Year.
This year’s Opening Service will once again take place at 7.30pm in St Columba’s Free Church of Scotland, Johnston Terrace, Edinburgh.
The service will be chaired by Principal Iver Martin with Dr Christopher Wright delivering the opening address.
Dr Christopher Wright is Global Ambassador and Ministry Director of Langham Partnership, an organisation which provides literature, scholarships, and preaching training for pastors in Majority World churches and seminaries.

Dr Wright has written many books including commentaries on Deuteronomy, Jeremiah, Lamentations, and Ezekiel, The Mission of God, Cultivating the Fruit of the Spirit, Old Testament Ethics for the People of God, and Knowing Jesus Through the Old Testament.
Chris spent five years teaching the Old Testament at Union Biblical Seminary in India, and thirteen years as academic dean and then principal of All Nations Christian College. He was chair of the Lausanne Theology Working Group from 2005-2011 and the chief architect of The Cape Town Commitment from the Third Lausanne Congress, 2010.
The presence of supporters and friends is always a huge encouragement to all who work at ETS, as well as to present and incoming students. This service offers a time for mutual fellowship before the busy work of the new session begins.
Please pray that staff and students would know the directing hand of God as they continue to prepare for a life-long mission of serving the Lord.
