Act 4, 1853 (IV) (Class 1) – Act anent Complaints and Appeals not sisting Procedure in Cases of Libel against a Minister. 23d May 1853.

The General Assembly, with consent of a majority of Presbyteries, ENACT AND ORDAIN,—

That hereafter, in every case of  charge or lama against a Minister of this Church which is of such a nature as may lead to the necessity of serving the accused party with a libel, no complaint or appeal shall have the effect of sisting procedure until a libel shall have been served and found relevant.
