Act 2, 1874 (II) (Class 1) – Act anent Signing of the Formula. 1st June 1874. (As amended by Act 4, 1892 (IV) – Act anent Signing the Formula and Act 1, 1908 (I) – Act anent Admission of Ministers and Probationers from other Churches, and Repeal of diverse Acts)

The General Assembly, with consent of Presbyteries, enact and  ordain, That in every case of Induction of a Minister to any charge in this Church, the person to be inducted shall sign the formula prescribed in Act XII. 1846, entitled, “Act anent Questions and Formula,”  during public worship on the day of induction, immediately after giving satisfactory answers to the questions appointed in said Act to be put to him.;… And at the diet for the induction of any minister thus called,  the Presbytery shall, before the induction service, record the fact that the provisions of this Act have been duly complied with. The Assembly also, with consent aforesaid, rescind the last clause of section 9 in the second head of the said Act XII. 1846, as being superseded by the provisions now enacted, anent the time and manner of signing the Formula.
