Act 1, 1888 (I) – Declaratory Act anent Powers of Senatus. 4th June 1888.

Whereas doubts have been expressed as to whether the Senatus of a College is entitled to refuse to sustain the session of any student who fails to perform his work as a student satisfactorily; and whereas it is declared, Act V. 1852, that “the ordinary discipline of the College shall be vested in the Senatus Academicus”: it is hereby declared, in accordance with said Act, that the Senatus, in the exercise of the ordinary discipline of the College, has the power to refuse to sustain the session of any student who fails to perform his work as a student satisfactorily.
