Act 8, 2025 – Director of Training

  1. The General Assembly approve the creation of the post of Director of Training with the dual role of overseeing the Church’s new Minister-in-Training Programme and acting as Course Organiser of Practical Theology at ETS. They note the joint oversight of the Board of Ministry and the ETS Board in the appointment.
  2. The General Assembly appoint Rev. Professor Dr Bob Akroyd to the role for an initial five-year term (reviewable). They commend Dr Akroyd to the prayers of the Church.
  3. The General Assembly release Dr Akroyd from his appointment as Course Organiser in Systematic Theology.
  4. The General Assembly instruct the Principal to ensure that a suitably qualified acting Course Organiser is assigned to manage the Systematic Theology department until such time as a permanent arrangement can be made.
