Why? To review and discuss the Strategy Committee’s Draft Three Year Plan in order that a report on it can be submitted to the October Commission of Assembly. The Commission has been given General Assembly authority to deal with the report. Presentations to presbyteries will have been made by the time the conference is held. Why Saturday? To allow those in full-time employment to attend. Just another strategy conference? No! It will be a significant step in consultation on a Three-Year Plan, including matters that were discussed and carefully noted at earlier strategy conferences. Who is behind the conference? It was approved by the General Assembly and is being organised by the Board of Trustees’ Strategy Committee. The Chairman of the Committee is Rev Neil MacMillan. Who should come? All office-bearers are welcome as individuals, although it would be good to have representation from every Kirk Session and Deacons’ Court. How do I book? Directly with the clerk to the Committee (contact details below) or through your congregational court. You can decide to come at the last minute, but it would be very helpful to have an idea of attendee numbers in advance (by 23 August). More detailed information on the General Assembly’s decisions, the Three-Year Plan and the format of the day will be issued in advance.
